How to Select a Good
Wedding Photographer

Review the photographer's on-line site and portfolio - look for their critical shots. Do they look pleasing? Do they capture the aspects of a wedding that would tell the story of your special day? All weddings are special, no two should look alike!

The pictures should capture your attention and keep you interested in seeing more - if it doesn't do this for you, how will it do it for your guests and loved ones? See if the photographer has the ability to integrate the environment and the people into a cohesive whole. Can they tell your story, can they artistically capture a moment? Or is the work uninspired, flat looking and matter-of-fact?

Talk with the photographer or email them - see if they are willing to work with you on any special photography requests. They should be more than accomodating - after all, you are hiring them to work for you!

Do they work in the photojournalistic style? This is important because it means they work quietly and unobtrusively and snap real events as they unfold. Also, they will usually be ready to handle impromptu requests from you at a moments notice. With this style, you only need to be yourselves as the photographer follows you throughout your special day. This creates a unique interpretation of your wedding with special captured angles and moments - an exceptional record of your special time.

Do your homework up front and you will be very happy with the results. After all, this is your moment, and you deserve the best!
